Pykewail

Perched atop a heath at the mouth of the Shalewater Flow, Pykewail is an ancient keep, whose name has been extended to the town that has grown up around it in the past hundred years. Legends claim that the place was built by an Elfking of the Old Land, and was left empty for seven centuries, following the profane rites, and rituals of darkest magic he performed there. History claims that it was only with the purifying faith of the Priest-Queen Myrellis, and the forgiving light of Pelor, that the ancient magics were sundered.

One wouldn’t know now that Pykewail had seen the attention of a god, or even a revered saint, for in the hundred years since Myrellis’ supposed sanctification, the place has dimmed and whispers that the curse endures in some respect flit across the tongues of the peasantry of the land.
